TABLA LEATHER STRAP Tabla is an important instrument and is widely used with vocal and instrumental music and dance in India. It makes the music and dance more attractive, melodious and appealing. The left drum is made of copper or brass metal hollow from from inside and the right drum is usually hollowed out of black shees ham wood. The right drum has a shell bored out of a single block of wood. The bottom is broader than the top. Both are covered with skin fastened to LEATHER STRAPS which are stretched over the body of drum by means of LEATHER STRAP. These straps can be pulled to raise or lower the pitch.
